RPI Chapter
RPI ANS is a community of students interested in any of the many facets of nuclear science and engineering. As an official student section of the American Nuclear Society, we offer many opportunities for students to engage in professional development, technical lectures and seminars, nuclear advocacy, and anything else to further their knowledge and involvement in all things nuclear.
Executive Board Members
President: Dante Mancinelli
Dante is a senior at RPI. This is his second term as president. Outside of academics he is part of RPI's improv troupe Sheer Idiocy.
Treasurer: Dakota Contryman
Dakota is a junior nuclear and mechanical engineering dual major. Dakota is originally from Oswego, NY.
Faculty Advisor: Professor Hyun Kang
Dr. Kang is an Associate Professor of Nuclear Engineering Program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).Dr. Kang’s research focus lies in innovations of risk assessment of safety-critical systems, intrinsically safe nuclear power, intelligence of control and protection, and design and evaluation of emergency procedure.
The American Nuclear Society (ANS) is a not-for-profit, international, scientific and educational organization. It was established by a group of individuals who recognized the need to unify the professional activities within the various fields of nuclear science and technology.
